Emily in France π«π· I Love Hotels

Staying in hotels alone is the ultimate luxury.
I'm not entirely sure how many hotels I've stayed in alone, over the past two months.
These hotels were nothing special. Each was approximately the equivalent of a Holiday Inn or a Motel Six: a place for me to crash for a few hours before a work-filled day that would follow. But there's something so luxurious, to me, about staying in a hotel for just one night, all by myself. To unpack (or not to unpack), to lay down in a bed that I did not make and will not have to make; to flip through channels on an unfamiliar TV, to wake up to a strange view I've never seen before.
I don't mind that the hotels are nothing special. In fact, if anything, it makes the experience even better, somehow. I could draw the shades and be anywhere: near an airport in Cleveland, or in central London, or on the outskirts of Saint-Etienne, or on the TARDIS, even. A hotel, alone, is like a little bubble outside the world, and I love that little bubble, sometimes. Sometimes, I like to be in no one's company but my own.
It's Thanksgiving, tomorrow, and I'll be in a hotel, but not alone. Keep an eye on my InstagramΒ to find out more!
