Emily in France 🇫🇷 Is in London!
Home is where your friends are.
Over the years, considering I've never lived there, I've spent an astounding amount of time in London.
At first, I hated it. I found the city too big, too sprawling, too impossible to know. But bit by bit, London became home to some of my favorite people in the world, and soon, it captured my heart, too.
I'm in London a few times a year, these days. Each time, it's the opportunity for new discoveries: Camden Market, Alexandra Palace, and more Tardises than I know what to do with. For a nomad like myself, it offers the perfect blend of exciting new discoveries and the sort of feeling of coming home that, really, you only get with those who have known you for longer than you've known yourself.
Also, cheap (excellent) beer.

Where I'm Eating
Turnip cakes with bacon (by far my favorite dim sum) from Tricotin. As always, you can find my ever-evolving list of my favorite Parisian restaurants here.

Where I'm Going
1. To Equihen-Plages, to write about an odd tradition of folks living in upside-down houseboats.
2. To my favorite curry house in London, which is actually in Orpington, and makes the most incredible vindaloo I've ever had.
3. To Miznon, to eat an entire roasted broccoli (necessary, after all the beer I've been drinking and curry I've been eating).
What I'm Writing
1. My review of Pantagruel, my favorite meal so far in 2020, for Paris by Mouth.
2. From the archives: a roundup of some of my favorite locales from Doctor Who in London for Paste Magazine.
3. From the archives: a few of my favorite snapshots of London on my blog.
What I'm Reading
This young adult horror took a while to sink its claws into me, but once it did, it didn't let me go. Full review of Wilder Girls on the blog.
A bientôt !
