Emily in France 🇫🇷 Is Self-Isolating
Self-isolation is cool, folks.
The world has changed so much, and so quickly. I'm safe in England, self-isolating with some lovely friends. I'm watching (and reporting on) the effects of the virus and quarantine in Paris. But I'm sure you all have tons of ways of keeping abreast of COVID-19 news. Instead, here are 7 ways to take your mind off it.
1. My dear friend Anna Polonyi is running a daily writing podcast called the Quarantine Quill to encourage folks to spend time with their craft.
2. Can't get to the gym? No worries! Yoga with Adriene has got you covered.
3. These 12 famous museums allow you to visit their collections from the comfort of your home.
4. The Metropolitan Opera is streaming some of its most famous operas for free.
5. The Social Distancing Festival is an online venue where artists – mainly those whose shows and festivals were canceled due to COVID-19 – can share their work with the world.
6. OK, this McSweeney's story won't exactly take your mind off coronavirus... but it will help you see the (dark) humor in the series of events that led us here.
7. Holybelly Café is one of several restaurants that gave perishable food away when the government forced restaurant closures Saturday. Watching their Instagram story has been inspiring and humbling!
