Emily in France 🇫🇷 Is Watching a Heckuva Lot of YouTube
It's OK to give yourself a break.
There are a lot of people planning to use quarantine and confinement to undertake some big project they never really took the time to do before: take a class, learn a language, master an instrument, paint a masterpiece. I myself am certainly guilty of this sort of lofty thinking... but I've also decided (in what is very uncharacteristic of me) to give myself a bit of a break.Â
I am still reporting on the impact of COVID-19 in Paris (particularly on the restaurant world), but I'm also spending a lot of time on YouTube. Here are some of the fun things I've found there (and elsewhere) to keep sane.
1. This group of performers staged a (quarantined) lipsync to one of my all-time favorite Broadway songs.
2. I love watching Tess Koman eat her way through various theme parks, in no small part because I do not like theme parks, COVID-19 or no COVID-19, and avoid whenever possible actually stepping foot in one.
3. If you're bored while you're stuck at home, you can help librarians and archivists decipher handwriting.
4. Or you could always learn to make pasta from an 84-year-old Nonna in Italy.
5. As for me? I spent most of yesterday watching Jess the Beautician make bento boxes. What can I say? It soothes me.
Stay safe, stay INSIDE, and à bientôt !
