Emily in France π«π· Is Not Writing As Much As She Thought She Would
I have not finished my novel.
I know I'm not the only person who thought that, because I was quarantined, I would suddenly have all of this time to write. "At least I can finish my novel without distraction," I thought to myself, as thousands of people thought the same thing about learning a new language or attempting an eight-minute plank or making their own sourdough starter.
Friends, I have been confined for several weeks, and I have yet to finish my novel.
And you know what? I'm OK with it. I'm writing, but I'm also working, reading, and eating quite a bit of sourdough bread that I did not make. Oh, and I'm finding weird stuff on the Internet.
1. I adore ghost signs... you know the old advertisements painted on the sides of buildings that have withstood the test of time? This article rounds up versions from all over London.
2. Leonardo da Vinci was a weird β brilliant β guy. This article delves a bit deeper into his life and what made him tick.
3. People in Naples have been filling baskets with food and lowering them into the streets to help feed the homeless. Passersby can either add food to the basket or take what they need. A video can be found here.
4. A small Massachusetts distillery has pivoted away from drinking alcohol to rubbing alcohol β specifically hand sanitizer.
5. And one man responded to someone singing out their window in perhaps the most New-York-er-y of ways.
Stay safe, stay INSIDE, and Γ bientΓ΄t !
