Emily in France 🇫🇷 Read a Book!

I have read exactly one book since being in confinement.
I thought I would have read a lot more since being in confinement in Paris. Turns out I like reading a lot more when it's a choice than when it's... pretty much the only thing I can do. But in an attempt to stop getting migraines from spending literally all of my waking time looking at a screen, I have started reading for an hour before bed. I love it.
1. I finished The Virgin Suicides, which I'm convinced I read back in high school but had almost no memory of. If I ever need to remember how different I am now that I was when I was seventeen, all I need to do is reread a book I read in high school. (I also wrote a review of it.)
2. This Twitter thread is filled with people attempting to write the first line of a novel set during COVID-19, and it might be one of my favorite things I've read in... at least a week.
3. You can listen to Levar Burton read to you on the Internet, which is really what the Internet was made for, right?
4. In more serious news, I'm super proud of this piece I wrote for Paris by Mouth about the restaurateurs coming to the aid of medical personnel in Paris' hospitals.
5. If you're still looking for a way to learn something new during confinement, SkillShare is offering some sick deals.
Stay safe, stay INSIDE, and à bientôt !
