Emily in France 🇫🇷 Happy Easter!
Staying motivated (or trying!)
It's not always easy to stay motivated when your days always look the same. In theory, since I'm literally working from home all day, every day, I feel that I should have the stamina to always work with the same drive. In practice, some days have proven easier than others with no real rhyme or reason.
After giving myself quite a bit of a break this weekend, I'm having a harder time getting back into gear than I might like. I'm gonna chalk it up to Easter Monday, which is a bank holiday here in France, and focus on my bigger goal: finishing my current novel draft this week. Here's hoping I find some motivation somewhere!
Here are five things around the Internet that may be keeping me away from my work... but are also keeping me from eating everything in the pantry.
1. Beverly Cleary turned 104 yesterday!
2. This guy sampled 23 different New York slices to determine which one was the best (and my family's favorite got a nod!)
3. Since we've been confined in Paris, delivery has become a norm – not just for groceries and prepared food, but also for everything from specialty grocers to wine shops. I wrote about the ins and outs of the burgeoning new industry for Paris by Mouth.
4. It's hard for an urbanite to imagine, but there are quite a few places in America where the Internet is not readily accessible, and it's becoming a much more serious problem in the time of COVID-19. Here's one writer's experience.
5. You know that actor in the play who's only got one line but is going to do a really good job of it?
Yeah, this guy nailed it.
Stay safe, stay INSIDE, and à bientôt !
