Emily in France 🇫🇷 Spring into Spring!
A month.
We've spent an entire calendar month in confinement, now, which is... weird. Very weird. It's been one of the sunniest Aprils I can remember in Paris, and yet there has been no picnicking, no walks, no guided tours.
This strict confinement period will soon be coming to an end, but in Paris, that won't change much. Our parks and gardens will still be closed, as will our restaurants, cafés, and bars. We'll still be required to wear masks outside. And during this time, I'll keep sharing fun stuff from around the Internet with you.
1. I interviewed experts on how best to cope with confinement and shared my findings with Organic Authority.
2. Is food more delicious when you eat with your hands? Experts say, maybe.
3. I tried to teach myself sign language a few years ago (and actually got pretty good). I found this look at ASL interpreters as essential workers – and coiners of neologisms in these pandemic times – a fascinating read.
4. Researchers have found that perfectionism is a health hazard – which was a wakeup call for this enneagram 1.
5. If your larder is going bare, Atlas Obscura rounded up some recipes from bygone eras of lack (including vinegar pie).
Stay safe, stay INSIDE, and à bientôt !
