Emily in France Is (Almost) in France
I'm headed south for the (rest of the) summer.
After almost a month in New York, it's nearly time for me to head back for more French adventures: I'll be spending the rest of the month bouncing about the South. But before I go, I'm enjoying eating pretty much everything I can in the city, including cannoli from Eataly, bagels from Tal, and pizza from Patsy's. It's bittersweet to be leaving New York (and not just because I'm leaving the land of spicy food...) but I'm ready for new adventures, including delving back into my book.
For those who don't know, in addition to writing a lot about Paris (and a *lot* about food), I've also got a novel in the works. After signing with my agent a little over a year ago, I began the lengthy revision process. Each draft is Shrodinger's draft: at once complete and incomplete... for as long as I don't look at it. I've been carrying the latest around with me for months; I'm oh-so-impatiently looking forward to sitting down in my favorite armchair in the house in the town that inspired it all to read what I hope is the very last version.

Between writing spurts, I can't wait to introduce you all to more secret spots in the south. Look for tips, tastes, and more next week!
Where I'm Eating
Little Sister and I both have summer birthdays, and while I was in town, we each took the other out to dinner. My birthday meal was at Claudette, which boasts North African flavors in a setting at once Parisian and Provençal.
